Brunel Shipping is a leading NVOCC freight operator with offices in Basildon in Essex as well as offices and warehousing facilities close to London Heathrow airport.
We also have a 7 acre cross docking facility at Felixstowe port which supports many companies who are importing from China and then transporting further across mainland Europe.
Our teams have a high level of experience of handling projects from all over the world, including high value project cargo and complex cross trade shipments which may require a multi modal logistics solution.
Meet the Team
Michael is one of the founding Directors of the Brunel Group of companies – having started Brunel Shipping & Liner Services (London) Ltd in 1998, this office has grown organically and now employs 35 staff at its Basildon facility and with an annual turnover of £16 million. Michael oversees the day-to-day strategic operations for Brunel, and has more than 30 years’ of experience within the industry guiding the Group from strength-to-strength and ensuring future investment and growth into new areas of the ever changing Freight Forwarding industry.
Richard is also the founding Director for the Brunel Group of companies – Richard has in excess of 30 years’ of experience in the Freight Forwarding industry and collectively with Michael is responsible for our growth, client retention and acquisition of new employees. Richard believes in ensuring that the client's requirements are met and actively takes the time to visit and speak to our customers on a daily basis.
Laura runs Brunel deep sea import department and has over 14 years’ experience in dealing with all aspects of your container imports, from your first booking at origin through to delivery to your door.
Ian is a highly knowledgeable individual with 30 years of freight forwarding expertise and has worked for several large global forwarders, including working in Chicago, USA.
Louise manages all aspects of our Sales and marketing for our import and export department as well as managing our general office administration team. Louise’s role includes general sales and marketing, client liaison, tender agreements and close interaction with all major shipping lines and suppliers.
Joanne runs our customs department and has over 10 years’ experience. Jo is fully experienced of the full range of import customs procedures including IPR, OPR, Home Use and OSR customs procedures’, payment of sugar levy’s and duty tariffs. Brunel has badges at all major UK shipping ports and all major airports.
Frankie has 3 years’ experience of customs imports and handles Destin 8 import arrivals at Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway. Frankie has strong knowledge of OSR, and home use entries and is continuing to develop her knowledge.
Kelly assists on our estimating department, and brings 8 years’ experience in office administration, dealing with shipping lines, hauliers and airlines to ensure all aspects of our office administration runs smoothly. Kelly also plays an active role in our profit loss and management figures to ensure all aspects of our import and export business is billed correctly.
Karen works alongside Louise and Kelly on estimating, invoicing and general administration, ensuring that supplier invoices and our clients sales invoices are invoiced on time.
Paige is the newest member of the Brunel team, she is keen to learn different aspects of supply chain logistics.
